Lodder CPA is a U.S. international tax specialty firm, specializing in cross-border tax preparation and consulting services.  We offer a variety of tax and accounting services focused on cross border business expansion as well as tax services for U.S. persons living abroad.   We provide a high level of personable service and a unique approach to meeting our clients tax and accounting needs. Our team is passionate about innovative ways to provide service delivery to our specialized client base located throughout the world.

Kyle Lodder is the owner of Lodder CPA PLLC, a U.S. international tax specialty firm. Kyle lives and works in Washington State’s Whatcom County, minutes away from the Canadian border.

Born in Canada, Kyle later moved to the U.S. and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Kyle retains a dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship, which uniquely positions him to relate to the complexity and implications of international tax.

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from Western Washington University in 2007, Kyle earned his certification as a Certified Public Accountant and began his career in public accounting. Working through complex U.S. international and cross border tax services from the outset of his career, Kyle provided international tax services first at a regional firm and, subsequently, a large local firm located in Bellingham, Washington prior to starting Lodder CPA in May 2015.

Due to his close proximity to the Canadian border, Kyle has developed significant expertise in U.S.-Canada tax matters. Along with his knowledge and experience, Kyle’s practice has expanded to working knowledge of U.S. tax implications with numerous foreign countries including Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

As a subject matter expert on U.S. international and cross border income and estate tax matters, Kyle has spoken to corporate and professional organizations internationally. Within the local community, he exercises this expertise while serving as a Board Member of the Northwest Washington Estate Planning Council. As a CPA, Kyle holds membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Outside of work, Kyle and his wife Katrina enjoy raising their five children. Kyle is deeply involved in his community, remaining actively involved in his church and serving as a basketball coach for a local high school. In between this, Kyle enjoys hiking and enjoying the Pacific Northwest.

Kyle Lodder is the owner of Lodder CPA PLLC, a U.S. international and cross border tax specialty firm.

Dustin Wielenga is a Certified Public Accountant who assists with U.S. international tax compliance and consulting services for individuals, businesses, estates and trusts for Lodder CPA PLLC in Lynden, Washington. Lynden is in beautiful Whatcom County, where Dustin calls home.

Dustin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Western Washington University in 2012 and immediately began his career in the Bellingham office of a regional firm. He obtained his CPA certification shortly after. Dustin also holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Over the past number of years Dustin has served clients in a variety of capacities. As a Tax Senior Accountant for the regional firm, he coordinated project management, reviewed tax returns, and assisted in tax planning and research projects.

Due to his experience assisting multinational corporations with corporate, federal and state income tax compliance, Dustin can provide advice and consulting on tax implications for foreign business expansion into the US and the re/structuring that coincides with expansion. Dustin brings a unique and valuable skillset to the Lodder CPA team.

Dustin enjoys interacting with clients and learning what they are passionate about, the challenges they face, and being a part of a team that helps meet their needs.

Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Dustin is an avid hiker and backpacker, and spends his spare time exploring the many different landscapes the Pacific Northwest offers.

Dustin Wielenga is a Certifed Public Accountant for Lodder CPA.

Alyssa is a cross-border bookkeeper for Lodder CPA.  She also manages client services for Lodder CPA, and assists with tax preparation of international tax filings.

In 2003 Alyssa obtained a certificate for Applied Business Technologies from the University of Fraser Valley, in which she learned accounting skills as well as various accounting programs.  Before joining the team at Lodder CPA in 2015, Alyssa spent seven years owning her own small business and providing Quickbooks services for the business.  She is well versed in Quickbooks online, and has received additional schooling on Quickbooks online from Whatcom Community College in 2016.

Alyssa loves numbers and making them balance, but outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.   She is very involved in her local and church community and along with her family, she enjoys an active lifestyle in the beautiful Pacific Northwest by hiking, biking and playing various sports.
